Weekly Retrospective #1-2013

by Alice on 6 January 2013

I ate | a delicious New Year’s Eve special at Orpheus (meze, prawns, lobster soup, lamb, lemon sorbet), Christmas biscuits, Hermann cake, finally maki again at SoYa (hadn’t been in months), a minicaramelpecanbon at Cinnabon (holy goodness!), breakfast at Café Tunnel, the lovely Jamie Oliver 15minute meal-dinner Mr A cooked for us
I drank | a beautiful Austrian cabernet sauvignon (Auer,Tattendorf, 2009) that tasted so much like a mediterranean or even South American (thinking Chile) wine, lots and lots of tea, rasp- and elderberry cordial, the odd coffee, sparkling wine (it was New Year’s after all), ginger lemonade at Halle Café, rum&pepsi (tastes odd)
I got excited about | our upcoming weekend trip to Stockholm (in February) and something else – stay tuned for a revelation
I could not believe | what happened today – so much happiness & so much sadness
I wish | I had a clearer idea about the direction of this blog. Alas, I don’t. Bear with me, though.
I enjoyed | spending such a relaxed New Year’s Eve with my best friend and her husband (and Mr A, of course), the “Naked Men” exhibition at Leopold Museum
I watched | the fireworks over Vienna (and surroundings) at the start of 2013 from a hill near Lainzer Tiergarten and was amazed; Dinner for One; a photo exhibition at Galerie Westlicht; naked men at Leopold Museum; Julie & Julia on DVD and it made me very hungry, Musterknaben (a cabaret)
I listened to | our washing machine/ dryer mostly. We did ALL our laundry (incl sheets, towels – I ironed kitchen towels today!) over the last few days
I read | Mrs. Dalloway – finally finished it, blogs (spending a lot of time on stylingyou nowadays – lists! Lists with things I need to buy! <3), Maxima, Frisch gekocht; Jamie Oliver’s 15 minute meals (that was more browsing, though)
I thought | I could go on like this – not going to work but doing only what I fancy doing at that particular moment; what was that hype regarding G3/ Primark all about?
I bought | so many things last week (read: sale) that this week was mostly groceries – except for a stint at IKEA and, finally, G3 shopping centre, where I bought the regulars at IKEA (candles, serviettes, a plant) as well as 3 cardigans (2 at Primark, one at Peek & Cloppenburg), a beautiful black jacket (s.Oliver) and a light grey cashmere scarf (C&A - 50% off!) and a shirt & two bolero jackets (replacing one old jacket) at New Yorker on Saturday

…and it looked like this
